How to Win a Triathlon
With our triathlon team in Irvine, California now boasting 59 active members and growing weekly, it is especially encouraging to consider what an interesting mix of athletes we have. Our club includes athletes from each age group, spanning from their 20s to their 70s, and we have all levels of experience—from absolute rookies to experienced athletes who have qualified for world championships. This means that whatever your comfort level with the sport, you are likely to find a kindred spirit to swim, bike, or run with.
One of our rookie triathletes, who is still learning the ropes in the sport, works in research for his day job. When he was asked to provide a 15-second clip to be used in a video compilation for a SoCal Triathlon Team athlete competing at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, he delivered something special. Most of us submitting content did our best to convey to Alex our best wishes and some kind of meaningful motivational message—a pretty tall order when we only had 15 seconds to work with. Our rookie triathlete researcher pored over all the available material at his disposal and delivered something we all can use: the keys to winning a triathlon. Thanks for the video, M.S., what a gem!
