Team Kickoff Party

The SoCal Triathlon Team kickoff party was a smashing success last Saturday! Our hosts Monica and Darren have obviously entertained large groups before as they made feeding and entertaining about fifty of us look easy. While our club primarily comes together for endurance sports training and racing activities, it is always a fun change of pace to dress up (a bit) and enjoy some relaxed socializing.

Over the course of the evening, we had the opportunity to talk face-to-face with some of our out-of-state athletes, hand out a few awards to recognize some standout performances from last year, and talk about our race calendar for 2025.

One of the “business” items that received quite a bit of buzz was the unveiling of our team kit design. The blue gradient colors look great and we can’t wait to start ordering this stuff. Hopefully, we will all be in new team gear by the end of February—fingers crossed.

We are thrilled to have a solid squad of ten-plus athletes participating in the Surf City road race on February 2 followed by over twenty of us racing Oceanside 70.3 in April. The other big race for the team at the moment is Boise 70.3. These are just for starters though. The second half of the year should be equally exciting. Check out our race schedule for real-time updates on the events we have athletes registering for; it is quite the list.

Thanks again to our lovely hosts for a great night and for everyone that was able to attend. You all contributed to making this year’s kickoff event a memorable one!
